2024 Summer Internship
Program Details
We often hear that the period of youth is a time of preparation. The development of society will certainly depend to a great extent on the effectiveness of the preparations young people make for the world they will inherit. What we should ask, then, is how young people can best prepare themselves for the responsibilities they will have to take on. Many young people are impelled by a vision of transforming their community by empowering the younger generation. As they continue to advance in life, they naturally begin to think about attending university and pursuing a career.
Edmonds Youth Education Centre will be offering an exciting 6-week summer internship for Grade 10-12 students. Youth will gain experience in the community, learn more about careers that they’re interested in, and make an impact. This summer internship will provide an arena in which knowledge is applied and the intellect developed in the context of the community. Young people will develop capacities in relation to coordinating the junior youth program, as well as gain practical insight into research in the field they are interested in. Together, these elements will help them excel in their studies and in their work in the community. Limited spots.
Dates: July 3 - August 16, Monday - Friday
Interns are awarded a small scholarship to assist with financial obligations associated with higher education.
